Unser Janus Queer Games Outreach-Programm unterstützt wirtschaftlich benachteiligte Menschen und ermöglicht Teilnahme, Inklusion und persönliche Bestleistungen in einer Gemeinschaft des Sports.

Das Hauptziel unseres Outreach-Programms ist es, LGBTIQA+-Sportler*innen aus den Mitgliedsländern der EU so zu unterstützen, dass sie an ihrem Lieblingssport teilnehmen können und diese Teilnahme wirtschaftlich tragbar ist. Darüber hinaus wünschen wir uns, die Anzahl der Frauen*, trans*-, inter*- und nicht binären Teilnehmenden aus Ost- und Südosteuropa zu erhöhen.

Unterstützung

Das Outreach-Programm beschränkt sich auf die Teilnahmegebühren und Unterstützung vor Ort in Köln. Die Unterstützung vor Ort kann in Form von ermäßigter oder kostenloser Unterbringung, Nachlässen bei den Verpflegungskosten oder besseren Reisebedingungen angeboten werden.
Wenn die Spenden es zulassen, beteiligen wir uns an den An- und Abreisekosten zur Veranstaltung, gerne möchten wir sie ganz übernehmen.

Da die Mittel für das Outreach-Programm aus Spenden finanziert werden und begrenzt sind, wird ein Auswahlverfahren auf der Grundlage klar definierter Kriterien eingeführt.

Bewerbung

Sportler*innen können sich für das Outreach-Programm bewerben, indem sie das Bewerbungsformular ausfüllen und ihre Motivation, d. h. einen begründeten Antrag auf Unterstützung, darlegen. Der Antrag muss eine Schätzung der zu erwartenden Kosten und eine unterstützende Erklärung einer zweiten Partei enthalten, z. B. von (Sport-)Vereinen, lokalen (LGBTIQA+) Organisationen, Freunde*innen, Arbeitgebern usw.

Unvollständige Anträge werden nicht berücksichtigt, und die Unterstützung wird nicht auf andere Personen ausgedehnt, die mit der antragstellenden Person reisen.

Teilnahmeberechtigung

Die Antragstellenden müssen sich als LGBTIQA+ identifizieren und aktiv an mindestens einer Sportart bei den Janus Queer Games 2024 teilnehmen wollen.

Sie haben Anspruch auf Unterstützung durch das Outreach-Programm, wenn ihre aktuelle Lebenssituation einem der folgenden Kriterien entspricht:

Menschen, die in europäischen Ländern ohne (oder mit sehr eingeschränkten) LGBTIQA+-Rechten leben.
Menschen, deren Herkunftsland das oben genannte ist, die sich aber derzeit in einem anderen Land aufhalten und aufgrund ihres Status als Migrant oder Flüchtling mit finanziellen Schwierigkeiten oder Diskriminierung konfrontiert sein könnten.
Menschen, die in europäischen Ländern leben und sich aufgrund ihrer finanziellen Situation eine Teilnahme nicht leisten können.
Menschen mit Wohnsitz außerhalb Europas in einem Land ohne (oder mit sehr eingeschränkten) LGBTIQA+-Rechten.

Die Eignung von Bewerbungen aus europäischen Ländern in Bezug auf LGBTIQA+-Rechte wird auf der Rainbow Europe Map and Index basieren, die von der International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA) entwickelt wurde und eine Rangliste von 49 europäischen Ländern hinsichtlich ihrer LGBTIQ+-Gleichstellungsgesetze und -politik erstellt.

Da sich die Janus Queer Games 2024 in erster Linie an ein europäisches Publikum richten, werden Bewerbungen aus den ersten drei Kategorien bevorzugt behandelt. Darüber hinaus werden Bewerbungen von Frauen, Lesben, Trans-, Inter- und nicht-binären Personen bevorzugt behandelt.

Bitte beachtet, dass es keinen Rechtsanspruch auf die Teilnahme am Outreach-Programm oder auf die Festlegung der Höhe der finanziellen Unterstützung gibt.

We also want to enable less privileged people to participate. Our Janus Queer Games Outreach Program supports economically disadvantaged people and enables participation, inclusion and personal bests in a community of sport.

Above all, we want to support LGBTIQ+ athletes from EU member states so that they can participate in their favorite sport and that this participation is economically viable. In addition, we would like to increase the number of FLINTA (women, trans, inter- and non-binary) participants from Eastern and South-Eastern Europe.

Support

The outreach program is limited to participation fees and on-site support in Cologne. On-site support can be offered in the form of reduced or free accommodation, discounts on food costs or better travel conditions.

If the donations allow, we will contribute to the travel costs to and from the event. As the funds for the outreach program are financed by donations and are limited, a selection process based on clearly defined criteria will be introduced.

Application

Athletes can apply to the Outreach Programme by filling out the application form outlining their motivation, i.e., a justified request for support. The application must include an estimate of the expected costs and a supportive statement from a second party, such as (sport) clubs, local (LGBTIQA+) organisations, friends, employers, etc.

Incomplete applications will not be considered, and support will not be extended to any other person travelling with the applicant.

Eligibility

Applicants must identify as LGBTIQA+ and wish to actively participate in at least one sport at the Janus Queer Games 2024.

They are eligible for support through the Outreach Programme if their current living situation corresponds to one of the criteria below:

People living in European countries without (or with very limited) LGBTIQ+ rights.
People whose country of origin is as mentioned above, but who are currently residing in another country and may face financial difficulties or discrimination because of their status as migrant or refugee.
People living in European countries who cannot afford to participate due to their financial situation.
People residing outside Europe in a country without (or with very limited) LGBTIQA+ rights.

The eligibility of applicants from European countries regarding LGBTIQA+ rights will be based on the Rainbow Europe Map and Index, developed by the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA), which ranks 49 European countries on their LGBTIQ+ equality laws and policies.
